On March 8, 2025, coinciding with International Women’s Day, the Odisha government disbursed the second installment of the Subhadra Yojana. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi transferred ₹5,000 each directly to the bank accounts of over 1.18 crore women beneficiaries, totaling ₹5,000 crore.

The Subhadra Yojana aims to empower women by providing financial assistance. Eligible beneficiaries receive ₹10,000 annually, distributed in two installments of ₹5,000 each. The first installment was disbursed earlier, and the second installment has now been credited.

The Odisha government has extended the application deadline for the Subhadra Yojana to March 31, 2025. Women who apply by this date and are found eligible will receive ₹15,000, covering three installments, on Raksha Bandhan (August 9, 2025).
